Carole and Nadim Saad, co-founders of Best of Parenting
As a couple, we wanted to find a solution to the endless arguments about how best to parent our three children. Like many families we were torn between the gentler “laissez-faire” approach and the more disciplinarian “tiger mum” philosophy. Yet what we really wanted was a way of parenting that could fit with our two different personalities, allowing us to parent in harmony, raising children who could grow to be happy and fulfilled adults.
So casting the ‘thou shalt not’ fads to one side, we turned to the latest research in child psychology, neuroscience and education for practical, tried and tested evidence. And we were delighted to discover that there really are clear, straightforward methods for achieving what we call a ‘balanced’ approach to parenting. In other words that the best way we could achieve a harmonious, joined-up and fulfilled family was through balancing our own parenting styles, whist having a good understanding of what motivated our children’s behaviour.
So life-changing were our discoveries that we decided to devote our lives to turn them in to highly effective parenting tools that we could share with families, of all shapes, sizes and nationalities. These tools are designed to support you through the immediate challenges of everyday parenting, whilst also meeting your long term goal to raise children to become happy, self reliant and responsible adults.
With our backgrounds in early years teaching, parent coaching and entrepreneurship, it was only natural that we work together to develop Best of Parenting into a multi-media mission. Best of Parenting provides you with a range of services tailored to your individual needs including our highly acclaimed parenting courses, private coaching sessions, mobile App, website and our book Kids Don’t Come With a Manual – The Essential Guide to a Happy Family Life.
We would like to give credit to all the inspiring people who’ve dedicated their lives to improving parenting and child development all over the world, and without whom creating our content and tools would not have been possible, such as: Jane Nelsen of Positive Discipline, Jim and Charles Fay of Love and Logic, Alfie Kohn, Daniel Siegel, John Gottman, Haim Ginott, Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish, Rudolf Dreikurs, Alfred Adler, Maria Montessori and many more!
